Manuscript. Part of a Latin ode beginning 'Nunc juvat doctas
referare portas', copied by Sampson Estwick, and probably his
autograph. English, early 18th century.
Oblong format, 487 x 380 mm. Single sheet, folded twice vertically.
Bound into Mus. 1142b, an early 20th-century guardbook of stiff
card and vellum. No early bookplate.
Provenance: presumably from either the Aldrich or Goodson
bequest. Formerly shelved within the Portfolios at position
I.2.ε; the reference 'I.2.ε' is written
on f. 51r. In Havergal Summary, it was included under the summary
heading of '5 odes in English, 4 in Latin'.
