Psalterium Carolinum (first published in 1657); copyist
unidentified. English, third quarter of 17th century. The score
appears to conflate the three vocal parts as they appear in the

ink. Collation not fully ascertained, but probably A4 (of which
A1 is apparently excised), B4, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, H4. Late 17th-century
binding of brown leather over boards, blind-tooled with fillets
and small ornaments. Bookplate 3. 19th-century shelfmark: G.10.
Provenance: from the Goodson bequest, listed in Clement 1747
as 'Psalterium Carolinum Dr Wilson No. 53', and in Malchair
1787, f. 9, as 'Psalterium Carolinum Dr. Wilson'. Clement's
number-label ('53') is still in place on the outside upper cover.
