Mus. 419-22
Manuscript. Four partbooks containing performing parts for English
consort music. Copyist unidentified; English, probably third
quarter of the 17th century. Several of the pieces lack one or
more voice-parts; either the missing parts were written into
a lost fifth partbook, or (more probably) the set was abandoned
before copying was finished. Item 18 was added by Henry Aldrich
probably in the late 17th century.
Table of titles and composers in modern form. Display form found in manuscript.

Late 17th-century 'Aldrich binding', Type 1; edges marbled.
Spines gold-tooled: 'FANT / F / 4.B.', and numbered '1-4'. Bookplate
2 in all four partbooks. 19th-century shelfmarks: I.5.29-32.
Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest (on grounds of the binding
