of the tightness of the bindings.
- Mus. 411: 64 folios, of which the first 41 are paginated '1-82'
in modern pencil. Unused ruled staves from f. 42r-end.
- Mus. 412 and 413: each 32 folios, of which ff. [1v-24r] are paginated
'1-46' in modern pencil. Unused ruled staves on ff. [1r] and
[24v]-end.
'Aldrich binding' Type 4; the spines are gold-tooled 'FANT
/ B / 3.B'. Bookplate 2 in all three partbooks. 19th-century
shelfmarks: I.5.21-3.
Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest; listed in Dowding (main
hand) at position N.1.4 as 'Fancies & Airs / By Coperario.
3 Vols.'. In Mus. 411-13 itself, the shelfmark 'N.4' is written
on the front flyleaf of each partbook.
