WC.4.17Binding fragments (manuscript). Two adjacent folios from a Sarum antiphoner, ?fourteenth-century, including chants for the Octave of the Epiphany. Formerly pasted to the inside upper and lower covers of a volume containing printed copies of Diui Irenaei, Graeci scriptoris eruditissimi, episcopi Lugdunensis, Libri quinque aduersus portentosas hæreses Valentini & aliorum, : accuratius quàm antehac emendati, additis Græcis quae reperiri potuerunt: / opera & diligentia Nicolai Gallasii, s. theologiae professoris. Vna cum eiusdem annotationibus (Paris, 1570), and Opera D. Gregorii, Nysseni Episcopi, fratris Basilii Magni, : de Graeco in Latinum sermonem conuersa, / studio potissimùm atque opera Laurentii Sifani i.v.d. ; & Ioannis Leuuenklaij (Basel, 1571); the pastedowns are now lifted, and bound as flyleaves at the front and rear of the volume. Late 16th-century binding of brown leather over boards, blind-tooled with rolls. Dimensions of the MS pages (trimmed to fit the binding): upright format, c. 320 x 210 mm. Provenance: donated to Christ Church by Archbishop William Wake (1657-1737). Not included in the standard microfilm series.
