Provenance: front flyleaf inscribed 'Hen[ry] Townshend', presumably the undergraduate of that name who matriculated Christ Church in 1668, aged 15. Probably then part of the library of Henry Aldrich; listed in the 18th-century manuscript catalogue of Aldrich's printed books (Christ Church, Library Records 11, f. 31r) as 'Missale Romanum / Ant. [1]627'. Upright format, 203 x 130 mm. Mid 17th-century binding of black leather over boards, blind-tooled with fillets. Gilt edges.
