OG.1.1
Pontificale Romanum Clementis VIII. Primum; nunc denuo Urbani VIII. Auctoritate recognitum. In tres partes sive tres tomos divisum, pro faciliori pontificum usu.
Paris: Impensis Societatis Typographicae librorum officii ecclesiastici, 1664
CLC, II, L1510

Upright format, 407 x 263 mm. Mid 17th-century binding of brown leather over boards, blind tooled with fillets, rebacked in the 20th century. Bookplate 2.

Provenance: donated to Christ Church in 1696 by Thomas Knipe (1638/9-1711), together with the Roman gradual now at H.3.1.1 and the Roman missal now at H.2.2.7. The inside upper covers of all three books have the following annotation: 'Donum Reverendi Viri Thomae Knipe / S.I.D. Scholae Regiae Westmonasteriensis / Archididascali & huius Aedis olim / Alumni. A.D. 1696'. Knipe, a graduate of Christ Church, had been tutor to Henry Aldrich at Westminster School, and was subsequently headmaster there; for a full biography, see The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Bearing in mind Knipe's connections with Aldrich, and Aldrich's interest in music, Knipe's choice of books for donation may well have been made with Aldrich in mind.

Not included in the standard microfilm series.
