1 Alessandro Stradella Fulmini quanto sa quel sembiante lusinghiero ff. 1r-12v
2 Alessandro Stradella Ardo, sospiro e piango ff. 13r-25v

Oblong format, 293 x 215 mm. 26 leaves, foliated in modern pencil. Collation: A-F4, G2. Unused ruled staves on ff. 26r-v. Late 17th-century binding of thick card; spine reinforced with vellum. Bookplate 2. 19th-century shelfmark: G8.

Provenance: outside upper cover annotated '2. Duetti Del Sig.re Alessandr[o] Stradella', to which a second hand has added 'bought of Mr Bayley, Serv[an]t to the L[or]d Cornbury'. This implies ownership by one of the following: Henry Hyde, second earl of Clarendon (1638-1709), who before 1674 was known by the courtesy title of Viscount Cornbury; Edward Hyde, third earl of Clarendon (1661-1723), who took the title Viscount Cornbury in 1674 ; or Henry Hyde, Viscount Cornbury and fifth Baron Hyde of Hindon (1710-1753), who was also styled Viscount Cornbury. The volume cannot be traced in any of the 18th-century catalogues of the Christ Church music collections, and appears not to have formed part of either the Aldrich or Goodson bequests.

Microfilm: manuscript music, reel 58.
