Provenance: for early owners, see below. The earliest catalogue entry for this copy is by Hind in Archives 1717, where it is listed at shelfmark K44: 'Morley's Introductn to Musick'. Upright format, 295 x 200 mm. Early C17th binding of limp vellum, with stabs for ties at the fore-edge; the whole repaired in the C20th. On the spine, in C17th ink: 'Morleys Introduction to Musi[ck]'. Front flyleaf inscribed 'Rog: Goodday his booke. 1639'; the same name appears on the titlepage. Further annotations on titlepage: 'prec. vi. s' (= 6 shillings), in an early C17th hand; and the name 'Birch' (or Birck'), also C17th, probably later than Goodday. Shelfmark 'K.44' on front flyleaf. Bookplate 2. 19th-century shelfmark: K.4.18.
