Manuscript. Treble voice-parts, keyboard music, and jottings of music theory, all copied by Richard Goodson Jr; English, early C18th. Possibly used for the teaching of boy choristers at Christ Church cathedral. Latterly the volume seems to have served as a source of scrap paper, since many sheets and half-sheets have been cut or torn out.

Upright format, 337 x 210 mm. 16 surviving leaves or partial leaves, foliated [0]-15, foliated in modern pencil. The current foliation system was adjusted in August 1990, and will not be present in microfilms made before that date. Unused ruled staves on ff. 1v, 2v-3v, 4v, 5v-6v, and 7v-15r. Early 18th-century binding of marbled paper over boards, quarter bound in vellum. Inside upper cover annotated 'Mr Goodson' in Goodson Jr's hand. Inside lower cover annotated with the name 'Thomas'. No early bookplate. 19th-century shelfmark: K.2.55.

Provenance: from the Goodson bequest. Not recorded in any of the 18th-century catalogues of the Christ Church music collections. Volumes in similar bindings, also owned by Goodson Jr, include Mus. 68-75, Mus. 76 and Mus 77.
