The words by the Reverend Mr. Joseph Trapp A.M. and set to musick by William Croft Dr. in musick[,] organist & composer to His Majesty[,] master of the children of the Chapel Royal and organist of St. Peters Westminster.

Provenance: from the Goodson bequest. Listed in Clement 1747 as 'Act Music by Dr. Croft. & / Te Deum & Jubilate in Score in B Mr Handel / No. 8', and 'Act Musick Dr. Croft No. 8 in Score'; listed in Malchair 1787 as (f. 7) 'Musicus Apparatus Academicus - two odes / performed in the Theatre Oxon. July.13.1713 Will. Croft.', and (f. 7) 'Te Deum & Jubilate. performed before / the sons of the Clergy at ye Cath: of St Paul. Handel. / London printed for Walsh'. Signed 'Richard Goodson [Jr] :1738:' on inside upper cover, 'Richard Goodson [Jr] C: C: Coll:' on verso of inner titlepage at centre of tract 1, and 'Richard Goodson - E: L: 1738' on rear of titlepage of tract 2, in all cases in Goodson Jr's hand. Sections of both publications were copied by Goodson Jr into Mus. 68-75; a note to that effect in Goodson's hand appears in Mus. 606 on the verso of the third page of tract 1.

Upright format, 385 x 240 mm. Contemporary binding of marbled paper over stiff card, edges strengthened with vellum. Clement's number-label has been removed from the spine. 19th-century shelfmark: I.8.7.sub. No early bookplate.
