Oxford: Printed by W[illiam]. Hall, for Ric[hard]. Davis, 1660
RISM B/I 16604
Mus. 499: Cantus primus [and basso continuo]; Mus. 500: Cantus secundus; Mus. 501: Bassus.

Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Dowding (main hand) at shelfmark N.2.1 as 'Ballads / For 3 Voices by Dr Wilson Oxon. 1660. 3 Vols.' (Unusually, this shelfmark was not written into the books themselves, and that may have let to their being subsequently reallocated by Hind (in Dowding} to position M.4.4; Hind himself then deleted that entry, allocating the shelfmark instead to Mus. 331.)

Oblong format, 192 x 152 mm. Late C17th bindings of mottled brown leather over boards, gold-tooled on covers and spine, related (but not identical) to the binding of Mus. 939. Bookplate 2 in all three volumes. C19th shelfmarks: I.7.1-3.

Microfilm: The printed music of Christ Church, Oxford, reel 26.
