Oblong format, 185 x 135 mm. 26 folios, foliated [0] and 1-25 in modern pencil. Collation: ff. [0]-23 = six gatherings each of 2 nested bifolios (= 4 folios); ff. 24-5 = probably a bifolio. Stitch-holes in the gutter imply that the gatherings were formerly stab-sewn. Now in a late 17th-century binding of thick white card. Bookplate 2. 19th-century shelfmark: I.4.90.

Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Archives 1717, position K13, as 'Instrumental Music'; Dowding (main hand) adds: 'MS. a small score'. In Mus. 378 itself, the shelfmark 'K.13' is written in ink on the front flyleaf, and the number '13' written on a label pasted to the outside lower cover.
