Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Archives 1717, item G17, as 'Playford's Musical Companion 2nd Part'; there is no entry for this item in Dowding. Several catches in this collection are by Aldrich himself, including the opening one ('Oh the bonny Christchurch bells').

Upright format, 232 x 183 mm. Late C17th wrappers of thin grey card, now within an early C20th binding of limp vellum with ties. Annotation on original upper cover, in smudged ink, probably reads 'Cornish'. Bookplate 2. C19th shelfmark: I.3.132.
