Manuscript. Richard Townley Woodman, autograph full orchestral score of The World's May Queen (1913) for baritone solo, soprano solo, chorus and orchestra, to words by Alfred Noyes. For a biographical note on Woodman, see the entry for Mus. 1273. The score includes minor erasures and emendations by the composer, but no conductor's markings, and the absence of a matching set of performers' parts implies that this work was never performed. Upright format, 427 x 337 mm. Structure: i+38+i leaves; paginated by the composer in ink. Early 20th-century binding of green fabric over boards.
