Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Archives 1717, item K38, as 'Balletti a tre voci Giacomo Gastoldi', and in Dowding (main hand) as 'Baletti à 3 voc. di Gio. Giacomo Gastoldi da Caravaggio. Antw. 1631'. In Archives 1717 the shelfmark was subsequently changed to K39.

Oblong format, 215 x 183 mm. Early C20th bindings of limp vellum with ties; no trace remains of any earlier bindings or wrappers. Shelfmark 'K.39' on titlepage of Mus. 120 only. No early bookplate. C19th shelfmarks: I.3.28-30.
