Manuscript. 'O give thanks unto the Lord', by M[atthew] L[ocke], copied in score by Edward Lowe (opening only) and an unidentified copyist. English, 3rd quarter of 17th century.

Single sheet, oblong format, 425 x 330 mm., folded vertically and mounted on a guard. No early bookplate. Now bound within Mus. 1188-9, an early C20th guardbook of stiff card and vellum.

Provenance unknown. Not recorded in any Christ Church catalogue until Havergal Summary, where it is listed among the Portfolios at position I.2.α, item 6: 'An anthem by M. L(ocke.) MS. end of XVII cent:'; the portfolio reference 'I.2.α' is written in red crayon at the top of f. 38r.
