Mus. 1188-9 (f. 18)

Manuscript. Short score of an incomplete vocal work, 'O remember not', in the hand of Henry Aldrich, probably his composing draft. English, late 17th century. Torn from a larger sheet, the remainder of which is now Mus. 1215(2) (q.v. for information about the printed material on the verso of the sheet).

Oblong format, 340 x 150 mm., folded vertically and pasted to a guard. No early bookplate. Now bound within Mus. 1188-9, an early C20th guardbook of stiff card and vellum.

Provenance unknown. Not recorded in any Christ Church catalogue until Havergal Summary, where it is listed among the Portfolios at position I.2.γ under the general heading of '14 Anonymous anthems, mostly separate, with fragments of others, & 3 services in parts. MS'; in Mus. 1188-9 (f. 18) itself, the portfolio reference 'I.2.γ' is written in red crayon at the top of f. 18r.
