Manuscript. Henry Purcell, 'In a deep vissions intellectuall Scene' (Z.545), headed 'Mr Cowleys Complaint'. Copyist unidentified; English, c. 1700.

Upright format, 327 x 210 mm. Three nested bifolios; the lower portion of f. 6 has been cut away. Foliation modern. Now bound into a modern card folder, and mounted impermanently on cords within an early 20th-century binding of stiff card and vellum. No early bookplate. The modern card folder has been annotated by York Powell, who has also written 'Ch Ch Liby Oxford' on f. 1r.

Provenance unknown; not recorded in any early catalogue until Havergal Summary, where it is listed among the Portfolios at position I.2.α, item 12: 'Cowley's Complaint. by H. Purcell. MS. about 1700.'; in Mus. 1150 itself, the portfolio reference 'I.2.α' is written in red crayon at the top of f. 1r.
