Mus. 1142b (ff. 56-7)

Manuscript. Fragments from the composing score of an unidentified ode by Richard Goodson Sr; autograph. English, early 18th century. The section sketched here, which opens at f. 57v, is for soprano, oboe and continuo, and opens with the words 'With Eager hast'.

Two sheets (ff. 56, 57) in upright format, 370 x 243 mm., paginated '113-16' by Goodson Sr, enclosing a smaller replacement sheet (f. 56*) in upright format, 260 x 240 mm., which was not paginated. Formerly folded once horizontally. All three sheets are mounted on guards, and bound into Mus. 1142b, an early 20th-century guardbook of stiff card and vellum. No early bookplate.

Provenance unknown. Formerly shelved within the Portfolios at position I.2.ε; the reference 'I.2.ε' is written on f. 57r. In Havergal Summary, it was included under the summary heading of '5 odes in English, 4 in Latin'.
