Mus. 1142b (f. 58)

Manuscript. Instrumental 'Tenor' part (C2 clef) in B flat major from an unidentifed ode, headed 'Symp: Second Song'. Copied by Charles Husbands Jr (staves 1-6) and an unidentified copyist (staves 7-13). English, late 17th century.

Upright format, 375 x 240 mm. Single sheet; unused ruled staves on the verso. Bound into Mus. 1142b, an early 20th-century guardbook of stiff card and vellum. No early bookplate.

Provenance unknown. Possibly shelved within the Portfolios at position I.2.ε, which according to Havergal Summary included '5 odes in English, 4 in Latin', although the reference 'I.2.ε' is not written on Mus. 1142b (f. 58) itself.

Microfilm: manuscript music, reel 38.
