Mus. 1142a (ff. 29-31*)
Manuscript. An unidentified polyphonic work, incomplete at the end, copied in short score by Henry Aldrich. English, late 17th century.
Upright format, 227 x 150 mm. Fascicle made out of a single sheet that has been folded twice into quarto, thus creating a gathering of two bifolios; the upper edge of the third and fourth leaves (ff. 31-31*) is uncut. Foliation is modern. Music on ff. 29r-v only; the remaining pages have unused ruled staves. Now bound into Mus. 1142a, an early 20th-century guardbook of stiff card and vellum. No early bookplate.
Provenance: presumably from the Aldrich bequest, but not traced in any of the 18th-century catalogues of the Christ Church music collections.
Microfilm: manuscript music, reel 38.
