Mus. 1141a

Manuscript. Early 20th-century guardbook of stiff card and vellum (upright format, 343 x 233 mm.), containing 17 tracts of largely unrelated sheets and fascicles, all English, 17th-early 18th centuries. The foliation sequence continues into Mus. 1141b-d. According to the contents list by Weedon, the volume originally opened on f.1 with the ' "Title-page" of a printed musical bk.'. This entry is deleted in pencil, and the volume now opens at f. 2.

  • Mus. 1141a (ff. 20-49) (omitting ff. 47-8). Set of 16 orchestral parts for an unidentified 'sonata' in C major. English, early 18th century; 3 copyists, all unidentified.
