Provenance: almost certainly from the Goodson bequest. The earliest catalogue entry for this set dates from the mid C18th, when Hind added it to Archives 1717 at shelfmark G33, alongside items of Aldrich provenance; his entry reads 'Isis. 10 Books. by Lully'. The set was subsequently listed by Malchair as being part of the Aldrich bequest . However, two partbooks from the set (Mus. 114 and Mus. 119) are annotated 'Isis. 10 Books' in the hand of Richard Goodson Jr., and the Goodson bequest is known to have included other printed copies of Lully's operas (Mus. 600-604). By shelving the set alongside Aldrich books, Hind may therefore have given a misleading impression of the set's true provenance.

Oblong format, c. 240 x 175 mm. Late C17th wrappers of grey paper in all volumes except Mus. 114 (of which only the torn front flyleaf of the binding survives); all volumes now within early C20th bindings of limp vellum with ties. Shelfmark 'G.33' on original upper front wrapper of Mus. 119 only. Bookplate 2 in Mus. 119 only. C19th shelfmarks: I.3.18-27.

All ten partbooks have a handwritten flourish (possibly the superimposed letters 'CMB') at the start of Act III, evidently added at the printing house.
