Arch. Inf. Subt.K.2Printed.
Upright format, 400 x 280 mm. Binding: fabric over boards, quarter-bound with blind-tooled brown leather, dating apparently from the 19th century, rebacked in the 20th century. No trace remains of any earlier binding, and the endpapers are modern. Provenance: donated by Sir William Morton (1605-72; judge and politician). The titlepage bears the following annotation: 'Liber Ecclesiae Cathedralis Christi Oxon., ex Dono / eximii viri Domini Gul: Morton Equitis aurati, & unius Justiciariorum Regii banci'; this would place the date of donation after 1665, when Morton was appointed judge of the king's bench. Earlier ownership: recto of closing folio is annotated 'Liber Edmundi Hatley', in a 16th-century hand. Microfilm: not included in the standard microfilm series.
Bibliography:A half-leaf from an earlier printed Sarum gradual, Graduale ad consuetudine[m] Sarum (Paris, 1508; STC 15862), has recently been located in a Christ Church binding. Follow this link for details of this fragment.
